And why savings are more impactful the earlier you start. We will have a quick refresher on RRSPs, TFSAs and how they can be used. Then move into budgeting and how to tailor one for your unique lifestyle and financial goals.

The workshop: For most of us the purchase of a home will be the most significant investment we make in our lifetime. Understanding the current state of the market, overall benefits of owning property vs renting and the various resources available to leverage as a first time home buyer is integral to making an informed and sound investment. It is critical that a potential purchaser fully understands the buying process from start to finish including steps to take prior to purchasing, all costs associated with buying and ongoing maintenance, the search and offer process and finally closing the transaction. By making a well educated and informed investment your home can provide an excellent foundation for building a solid financial future.

The facilitator: After studying psychology at McMaster and Concordia universities, Brooke returned to Toronto and immediately immersed herself in real estate, buying her first property while still a student. She has a firsthand understanding of how the market can be leveraged, a skill she honed through her own personal experience buying and selling a number of principle and investment residences. With a keen eye for up-and-coming developments, Brooke has a particular interest in boutique and infill modern town home projects. Her clients tout her expertise in investor relations, operations and immaculate customer service, with unparalleled focus, patience and attention to detail. Her track record has been built upon her personal credo of never looking to buy for a quick flip. “Purchase with the intent and ability to hold long term, and you can never go wrong”, she adds. Brooke is very passionate about animals and in her free time volunteers regularly with the Not for Profit dog rescue Redemption Paws. She lives in downtown Toronto with her husband, three rescue dogs and rescue cat.
